Terms and Conditions
Reservation and Payment
Reservation can be made by letter, fax or e-mail 60 days
prior to the departure date with a $200 deposit payable to either China
Custom Tours USA, or the specific tour operator that China Custom Tours
is using for service operation. The balance of the tour payment should
be made 45 days prior to the departure date. The reservation is made within
45 days prior to the departure date, full payment should be made upon confirmation
of the reservation.
Passports and visas
All tour members need a visa to enter China. A passport
valid for six months after departure date from the USA is required. China
Customs Tours can process your visa to China for a fee of $55 per person.
An application form will be sent to you after the reservation is made.
Cancellations
Passengers who cancel their reservations within 60 days
prior to departure are subject to the following cancellation fees:
. 60-45 days prior to departure: $200
. 44 -15 days prior to departure: $300
. 14-8 days prior to departure: 50% of tour fare
. 7 days or less before departure: 100% of tour fare
All cancellations must be in writing and will be effective
upon receipt by China Custom tours. If owing to serious illness or injury,
the participant withdraws from the tour, a refund will be subject to the
consent of the local travel agent.
Baggage
At owner's risk throughout. Baggage allowance differs
for the transpacific and China sections of your tour. US and non-stop transpacific
allowance is two pieces of checked baggage totaling 106 inches. Baggage
allowance within China is one piece of baggage not over 44 pounds per person.
Carry-on baggage transpacific is limited to the specifications of the airlines.
In China, the limited is 11 pounds.
Tips and Taxes
Taxes for all domestic flights are not included. Travelers
have to pay at the airport and only in Chinese currency. The local guide
will collect the exact amount at the airport before departure. International
Departure Tax in China is RMB90 (about 11 US dollars) and airport taxes
for domestic flights are RMB50 (about 6 US dollars). Tips to restaurant
and hotel waiters, chambermaids, and porters are not included. The customary
end of tour gratuity to your guides and drivers are not included.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend the purchase of a travel protection
plan from Travel Insurance Services. This form of coverage will protect
you against unexpected events that could cause you to cancel or interrupt
your vacation. Also, this affordable and comprehensive travel protection
program provides coverage for unexpected delays, medical assistance, baggage
and baggage delay, evacuation, and most importantly pre-existing conditions.

Hotels
In order to guarantee the ultimate comfort and security
of our passengers, we select only those hotels that are centrally located,
well managed and service competitive. On top of our research and frequent
inspection, we gather feedback from our passengers to update our hotel
selections, here are the hotels we use:
Beijing: New Otani Hotel, Kingwing Hotel or Peace Hotel.
Xi'an: Sheraton Hotel, Le Garden Hotel or Jianguo Hotel
Shanghai: Central Hotel, Hotel Equatorial or Shanghai
Hotel
Guilin: Windsor Guishan Hotel, Sheraton Hotel or Royal
Garden Hotel
We reserve the right to substitute hotels specified
in the itinerary whenever necessary. All hotel accommodations are based
on double occupancy.
Meals:
Meals are indicated at the end of each day's sightseeing
programs as:
B for breakfast, L for lunch, D for dinner and SD
for special dinner. Vegetarian food is available upon request.
Airlines:
As to international air carrier to China and Asia, we
use a variety of reputable airlines, such as Northwest Airlines, United
Airlines, Japan Airlines, Air China, Asiana Airlines, etc. depending on
your preference and your departure city, we will select the carrier that
offer your best connections.
Responsibility
China Travel Specialists (USA) acts only in the capacity
of a travel agent for purveyors of transportation, sightseeing and hotel
accommodation. All vouchers, receipts and tickets issued by China Travel
Specialists (USA) or by tour operators are subject to terms and conditions
stipulated by the suppliers. China Travel Specialists (USA) shall be exempt
from any liability for loss or damage to property, injury of persons, accidents,
delays, irregularities or other occurrences beyond its control. Nor shall
China Travel Specialists (USA) be liable for any injury, damage, loss,
accident or delay resulting directly or indirectly from delays, cancellations,
or changes in flights, itineraries, schedules, or other means of transportations,
strikes, theft, sickness, weather, quarantine or other causes. All tour
itineraries and fares may be affected by alterations or delays in air or
surface transportation services in China. Any additional expenses incurred
shall be charged to the participants.
All tour fares are based on the present value of foreign
currencies in relation to the U.S. Dollar in current tariff. Participants
are not allowed to change the confirmed itinerary, including transportation,
hotels, meals and sightseeing. Any extra charge or loss incurred due to
such change should be borne by the participants.
No refund shall be given for any portions of the package
unused by the participant of his own accord.
If you have any complaints during the trip in China,
you should inform your local guide or our local suppliers immediately of
the situation so that we may promptly attend to the matter. Failure to
do so may reduce or eliminate any compensation that may be payable.
