Day 1 • Los to Shanghai
Lift off aboard Northwest Airlines' wide-cabin 747 jetliner to fly transpacific.

Day 2 • Arrive Shanghai
Welcome to China's center of commerce, Shanghai. You are greeted and escorted to check in to the Grand You You Hotel

Day 3 • Shanghai

Today's full day sightseeing tour shows the glories of ancient China at the Shanghai Museum and Jade Buddha Temple. Visit The Bund with its colonial-style architecture and see a performance at the Children's Palace. Then shop at emporium-lined Huai Hai or Nanjing Road.

Day 4 • Shanghai to Suzhou

This morning, travel by motorcoach* to Suzhou, noted for its legendary ancient gardens. Tour the Embroidery Research Institute, North Temple Pagoda, Pan Men City Gate and the Garden of the Master of Fishing Net. Overnight at the Bamboo Grove Hotel.

Day 5 • Suzhou to Hangzhou

This morning, drive to scenic Hangzhou. Then out for sightseeing which includes a cruise on renowned West Lake, Hua Gang Park, and 4th century Ling Yin Monastery. Check in to the Zhejiang International Hotel.

Day 6 • Hangzhou to Huangshan

Today, motorcoach to Huangshan. Check in to the International Hotel.

Day 7 • Huangshan

This morning, drive to the foot of Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), where you take a cable car up to the top of the mountain. Afternoon tour of the Huangshan Scenic Area, where the region's "Four Ultimate Beauties" are on display-the sea of clouds, ancient green pines, fantastically shaped rock, and steaming hot springs. Overnight at the mountaintop Xihai Hotel.

Day 8 • Huangshan

Another full day of sightseeing at the top of Huangshan. Enjoy the panoramic vistas, inspiration for centuries of Chinese ink paintings and poetry.

Day 9 • Huangshan to Beijing

Late morning, take the cable car down the mountain. This afternoon, visit the ancient streets of the town of Tunxi, with its traditional architectural style. This evening, take a flight to Beijing, where you are met and transferred to the Holiday Inn Temple of Heaven.

Day 10 • Beijing

Today's full day tour visits vast Tian An Men Square, the Imperial Palace in the once Forbidden City. In the afternoon, sightsee the exquisite Summer Palace with a boat ride on its Lake Kunming.

Day 11 • Beijing

Today, walk the ancient ramparts of the astonishing Great Wall. Later, stroll along the Sacred Way to the Ming Tombs and Chang Ling Exhibition Hall.

Fly home today aboard Northwest Airlines' wide-cabin 747 jetliner.
