Day 1 • Los Angeles to Beijing
Lift off aboard Northwest Airlines' wide-cabin 747 jetliner to fly transpacific.

Day 2 • Arrive Beijing

Welcome to China's capital, Beijing. You are greeted and escorted to check in to the Holiday Inn Temple of Heaven.

Day 3 • Beijing

Today's tour introduces Tian An Men Square and the Forbidden City's Imperial Palace, with admission to the living quarters, museum and jewelry sections. After lunch, sightseeing at the Summer Palace with a cruise on placid Lake Kunming.

Day 4 • Beijing

A highlight of your visit to China today: the awesome Great Wall. After lunch, walk along the Sacred Way to the Ming Tombs and Chang Ling Exhibition Hall.

Day 5 • Beijing to Xi’an

Morning free; you may wish to shop at Lido Market. Then fly to historic Xi'an, ancient capital of China, and check in to the Xi'an Garden Hotel.

Day 6 • Xi’an

View the extraordinary life-sized terra-cotta army, no two alike, buried for over 2200 years; Circle Vision Movie; Bronze Chariot and the collections at Shaanxi Provincial Historical Museum.

Day 7 • Xi’an to Nanjing

This morning, fly to Nanjing. Then a sightseeing tour shows Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, the Former Presidential Palace and Yue Jiang Lou Tower. Check in to the Jinling Hotel.

Day 8 • Nanjing/Yangzhou/Nanjing

A scenic drive takes you to lovely Yangzhou. Tour beautiful Slender West Lake, Ge Yuan Garden and He Yuan Garden and the Marco Polo Museum before returning to Nanjing to overnight.

Day 9 • Nanjing to Suzhou*

Continue sightseeing in Nanjing this morning. In the afternoon, motorcoach to Suzhou, where you check in to the Bamboo Grove Hotel.

Day 10 • Suzhou to Hangzhou*

This morning's sightseeing tour shows the Embroidery Research Institute, North Temple Pagoda, Pan Men City Gate and the Garden of the Master of Fishing Net. In the late afternoon, motorcoach to Hangzhou and check in to the Zhejiang International Hotel.

Day 11 • Hangzhou

Full day tour includes a cruise on West Lake, Hua Gang Park, a bonsai garden, and 4th century Ling Yin Monastery. Then visit the Tea Production Brigade.

Day 12 • Hangzhou to Shanghai*

Take a motorcoach this morning to Shanghai, China's center of commerce. Check in to the Grand You You Hotel. In the afternoon, tour The Bund and Huai Hai or Nanjing Road's emporiums.

Day 13 • Shanghai

Today a full day sightseeing tour shows the glories of ancient China at the Shanghai Museum. Then visit the Jade Buddha Temple, and enjoy a performance at the Children's Palace.

Day 14 • Shanghai to Los Angeles

Fly home today aboard Northwest Airlines' wide-cabin 747 jetliner or choose to extend your tour with a 5 day extension to scenic Huangshan,
